My Scribble Scrabbled Heart

Here is a picture of Sarah (with her wake up hair this morning)

I find that anytime you have your eyes open to a nugget of wisdom the opportunity for testing will be readily available.

Last night I was flying home from Toronto Canada after several very long days of working. I knew I would have customs to deal with so I packed (crammed) everything into a carry on bag to avoid baggage pick up. My flight was full and we boarded by zones. My zone was last. As I rolled my suitcase onto the plane the flight attendant told me I was going to have to gate check my bag and it would be in baggage claim when we arrived. I promptly informed him that my bag was small enough to fit in the overhead compartment and it came to Canada that way (I had a bit of attitude with my statement)!! I sat in my seat still feeling frustrated my luggage no longer in my hand. The gentlemen beside my asked my if I had children; when I mentioned Sarah the realization of today's devotion hit me.

My actions, words, and tone of voice a few minutes prior had added some "scribble scrabble" to my heart. I had to reach for the "eraser". I apologized to the flight attendant for being snippy and short with him.

I quietly thanked God for loving me enough to correct me. I also suggested to Him that because I was so tired it might be a good idea not to present me with anymore opportunities.

I should know better than to do that. I parked my car in a business valet section of our airport (it is a safe parking solution when I am traveling by myself); when I arrived at the lot the attendant informed me that whomever had parked it left the lights on (for 4 days) and I now had a dead battery. This time I held back my immediate first thoughts and responded with kindness; the car was jump started and I made it home.

As you go through your day today I pray that you would listen to the Holy Spirit's convictions and if you put some messy lines in your heart quickly erase them.

For those of you coming to She Speaks next week I can not wait to see you. We are praying for all of you.

Blessings,

Hi Charlene!

I met you last year and I have to say that when I think of She Speaks so often I see your smiling, beaming face... I can't remember for what meal or speaker we sat next to one another, but it was wonderful to meet you!

I won't be there this year, but I want you to know I am praying for you and the P31 Team. This is such a "God thing" that it simply must be preserved and protected.

We'll just cover it with our prayers, and cover you sweet, blessed women at the same time!

Love in Christ,

Helen Martin

Wonderful devotion and post! It is beautiful how God uses children to speak to us. I often learn lessons through my 4-year-old. I am keeping the P31 team in my prayers as She Speaks approaches. I cannot wait to meet you all. Blessings!

Your daughter is absolutely adorable, and such profound wisdom from such a little one.

Earlier this morning, before reading this devotional, I was sharing with a friend how I had reacted to a situation recently, in front of my son, in anger and frustration, and how almost immediately as the words were leaving my lips I sensed the Holy Spirit tugging at my heart. I apologized to the Lord and to my son. I trust that even though I so often need "God's eraser" of forgiveness, my son is seeing the reality of an unmasked life daily surrendering to Him.

See you in 9 days!!!!! Remembering you with love and prayers,
Joy

I had to laugh when I read your post today! I can so relate to this. Whenever I think I'm too tired to deal, that's when the trials come! But God is faithful to remind me to hold my tongue (although I don't always listen).

I'm praying for you and your family today as you are preparing for the upcoming She Speaks Conf.

Charlene,

I was just reading Lysa's blog today and she has asked for prayer for all of you who are preparing to lead at the She Speaks Conference. I know you and LeAnn and I am going to pray for you every morning until the day I arrive and give you a hug.

I will pray for protection over your family, your health, spirit and for peace in the craziness. I've got your back and will stand with Jesus praying protection for you. Love and hugs, Lynn

As Lysa requested, I have prayed today for you and the other ladies on the speaking team for the "She Speaks" Conference. I pray that God's arms will hold you close and minister to each of you individually and also as a group.
You're in awesome Hands!

May God bless you,
Marilyn in MS

Thank you again for this wonderful message. Oh, thank goodness Jesus is the biggest eraser for all of us. I cannot wait to see you again at She Speaks. You were such a wonderful leader last year for our group. Praying hard for all of you.

Such a wonderful word picture, scribble-scrabble from my mouth, the other day I made a comment about diarrhea of the mouth, and made my 16 year old gag. From now on it's definitely scribble-scrabble!

I'm praying for you: for your preparation for She Speaks, for your family in your absence and that She Speaks will be a blessing for you, as well as you being a blessing for others.

I am feeling today l like I am standing at the side of the ocean and I can feel a huge wave approaching. I sense the POWER of it!

I know that it's the Spirit already descending for the SHE SPEAKS conference. I can feel Him, Lysa and the P31 group! He's waiting for each and every woman to walk through those doors, and P31 ladies,

God is so very PLEASED with each of you!

See you there! I'll be the introvert wondering around looking for coffee!
